Each capsule of Thorne's Calcium contains 250 mg of elemental calcium, bound to malic acid, which is more concentrated and better absorbed than conventional supplement forms of calcium, like calcium carbonate. Dicalcium malate consists of one molecule of malic acid that is bound to two molecules of calcium, which results in a compound that is 29% calcium – compared to, for example, calcium citrate, which is 19% calcium – thus resulting in more elemental calcium per capsule.
